Our season starts in April and goes on until October.
April:
Some call this winter, some say spring. The days are still short, but getting longer. Could still snow, and the water is (almost) freezing!
Fishing is good now, especially for sea trout (if you can get it).
May:
Longer days, still not warm, but the sun is hot, summer is coming!
June:
Ofter referred to as the "pre-summer". Things are warming up, and days are long. Ironically the 23rd june (summer solstice) is called midsummer, though summer has hardly begun.
Juli:
Summer! Expect air temperatures from 25-35 degrees celsius, water temperatures around 20C. Most norwegians are on holiday through out July, so the city (and the fjord) has a relaxed vibe.
August:
Summer! Well, let's say it still feels like summer most days. However, towards the end of the month things will be getting noticably chillier and the evenings shorter. Some seaside restaurants and cafes will be closing during the weekdays.
September:
Colder evenings, shorter days. September always offers some beautiful sunny days, and with few other boats out it often feels like we have the fjord entirely to ourselves.
But watch out, weather conditions are variable and change quickly, so we pay extra attention to the weather report.
Great for fishing excursions, crabbing, and wildlife spotting.
October:
Autumn. Fresh, crisp days on the water. Relentless storms can come through, so we pick our days carefully. We wear hats and gloves, and enjoy the peaceful serenity with the fjord to ourselves.
October mean LOBSTER in Oslo! But we also go out for fishing, and sea safaris.
