Lobster Safari & Seafood Culinary
Lobster Safari & Seafood Culinary
Oslo's best kept secret!
Only available during the month of October.
Welcome aboard for a day at sea filled with fun, excitement, wildlife, local culture, and local seafood culinary.
We start the day with a gentle cruise of the beautiful Oslo waterfront from the best seats in the house passing all of the main sights, including Oslo City Hall, the Akershus Fortress, Bjørvika with the fabulous Oslo Opera house and Edward Munch Museum.
Continuing past Sørenga, we will proceed to take in the views of the picturesque islands of the inner Harbour area, including Hovedøya, Bleikøya, Gressholmen, Langøyene and Lindøya, before we pick up the pace and set our course due south.
During this 2 hour leg of the journey we are likely to make some wildlife encounters, and get an up-close look at the many seafront homes and cottages as we follow the shoreline towards Salty Beard's secret lobster pot spots just south of Jeløya, where the Oslofjord opens up and reveals the horizon.
Your skipper will have placed the pots a day or two in advance, and today hopefully they will return a good catch. Once we have pulled our pots, we will make our way to a nearby seaside location for an outdoor meal with the freshest seafood imaginable - a true seafood culinary feast. Sometimes our own catch may be sufficient, but to be on the safe side your skipper will have prepared a locally sourced seafood spread.
The precise location will vary, depending on the preferences of the group and conditions of the day.
Please note we will always operate well within the legal requirements. Rules and regulations may change. We cannot guarantee lobster.
